Minerva House is a stylish, spacious home in central Pocklington, perfect for families, friends and small groups who want comfort, character and convenience. Whether you’re celebrating something special, attending a wedding or planning a relaxed break near York, it gives you the space to enjoy being together under one roof.

Pocklington is a charming market town and a great base for East Yorkshire and York. Burnby Hall Gardens hosts seasonal events including the Tulip Festival from 18 April to 9 May 2026, and Pocklington Arts Centre runs a year-round programme that gives guests another reason to book a weekend away.

Each room at Minerva House is inspired by places and local points of interest that help make Pocklington and the surrounding area so special, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way, Burnby Hall Gardens, Millington Wood, Allerthorpe and the nearby Yorkshire coast. The themed rooms are designed to reflect the character, beauty and variety of the local area, taking inspiration from the countryside, gardens, woodland, waterways and coastal connections that make this part of East Yorkshire such a lovely place to visit.

The Wolds Way
Our Wolds Way room is inspired by the Yorkshire Wolds Way, the well-known National Trail that winds for 79 miles through the rolling chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds. It reflects the calm, open feel of the surrounding countryside and celebrates the big skies, peaceful scenery and natural beauty that make this part of East Yorkshire so special

The Coast
This room is inspired by Pocklington’s wonderful position between the Yorkshire Wolds and the East Yorkshire coast, giving guests the chance to enjoy both charming market-town life and easy access to seaside days out. It reflects the variety of the area, from quiet countryside and local character to the wider appeal of the coast, with its beaches, traditional seaside towns and beautiful views.

The Burnby
This room is inspired by Burnby Hall Gardens, one of Pocklington’s best-loved attractions and home to a National Collection of over 100 varieties of hardy water lilies on its beautiful Upper and Lower Lakes. It takes its cue from the gardens’ colour, elegance and charm, creating a space that feels soft, graceful and closely connected to one of the town’s true gems.

The Allerthorpe
Our Allerthorpe room is inspired by nearby Allerthorpe Lakeland Park, a popular local spot set in 53 acres with three lakes, woodland walks and outdoor activities for all ages. The room reflects that mix of nature, woodland and fresh-air adventure, while still keeping the warm, stylish feel that runs through the whole house

Millington Wood
Our Millington Wood room is inspired by one of the area’s loveliest natural spaces, a 50-acre nature reserve of mixed woodland that has been described as the richest botanical woodland in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The room is designed to echo the peaceful, restorative feel of the woods and to celebrate the greenery, wildlife and sense of escape found just beyond Pocklington.

Lovely place to stay, with close access to the sweetest town. We loved the decor and felt it was just as comfortable as our own homes.
